ATLANTA (July 30) -- Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Partner Cindy Hanson will serve as a featured speaker at a live webinar presented by Strafford Publications. The webinar, which will be held Wednesday, August 1, is titled “Pre-Employment Background Screening After EEOC’s New Guidance.”
Ms. Hanson will join other industry experts as she provides guidance to employment counsel on the legal pitfalls of pre-employment background checks. The panel will prepare practitioners to counsel employers on how to structure hiring policies and procedures that minimize liability exposure.
Ms. Hanson focuses her practice on class action defense. She has handled hundreds of matters under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including over a dozen class actions. Ms. Hanson’s practice includes the representation of consumer reporting agencies, entities who furnish information to consumer reporting agencies and employers who use background checks for employment purposes. In addition, she has significant experience representing companies defending class actions under consumer protection statutes and state common law.
